2 Minute Weekly AI - Week 48
Hey there,
This is a ~2-minute read featuring news and insights on AI for Week 48, 2024.
In these weekly letters I will now also share personal insights that I get each week, in addition to AI news.

News & Learnings - Week 48
Lovable - The world's first AI Full Stack Engineer?
Lovable is a software company in Sweden that aims to give people without previous coding experience an opportunity to build high-quality software without writing code.
Last week was the first time I actually tried their software, and I was blown away.
I gave the LLM a simple conversational prompt to redesign my current website, simply by providing some basic text instructions and 5 screenshots of my current website.
It created a really clean and professional website that was not entirely complete, which is understandable due to me writing a not so good prompt, but still crazy to see it redesign my website in just 2–3 minutes.
Watch this video to see Lovable redesign my website:
If you have not already, make sure to try Lovable as soon as possible.
The best part, you can try it out for free!

OpenAI Sora Leak
One of OpenAI’s more recent models, called Sora, is an AI capable of creating videos from text and has been available to a group of early testers for a while now. The reason it hasn’t been released to the public is that it’s considered too powerful, according to OpenAI.
Last week, some early testers leaked access to the model by using its API and building a front end on Hugging Face.
This made the Sora model publicly accessible for a few hours until it was taken down by OpenAI.
It will be interesting to try this model when it’s released to the public in the future, and it’s crazy to know that we can create videos from text in just seconds.

Anthropic’s Model Context Protocol
Anthropic has unveiled the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open-source standard designed to enhance connectivity between AI systems and various data sources. This aims to eliminate the fragmentation caused by custom integrations, allowing developers to establish secure two-way connections through a unified protocol.
Key features of MCP include:
Universal Standard: MCP provides a single framework for AI systems to access data from multiple sources, improving scalability and efficiency in AI applications.
Developer Tools: The launch includes specifications, software development kits (SDKs), and local server support for the Claude Desktop app, facilitating easier integration with platforms like Slack, GitHub, and SQL databases.
Community Collaboration: Anthropic encourages developers to contribute to its open-source repository, fostering a collaborative ecosystem for building context-aware AI applications.
As organizations increasingly adopt AI assistants, MCP is expected to play a crucial role in bridging the gap between advanced AI capabilities and the data they rely on, ultimately enhancing the relevance and quality of AI-generated responses.
